A graduate from the prestigious Maulana Azad Medical College (MAMC), Dr Asha Sharma is one of the leading Gynaecologists in Delhi. She has carried out more than 12,000 high risk deliveries, over 15,000 normal & operative deliveries with over 10,000 traditional hysterectomies in a career spanning 40 years. Until recently, Dr Asha Sharma was the Head of Obstetrics and Gynaecology unit at Rockland Hospital, since its inception in 2004. Prior to this, she has been in private practice where she was associated with some of Delhi’s leading hospitals such as Safdarjung Hospital, Institute of Medical Sciences, Moolchand Hospital and Mohinder Hospital.
She received her medical training and education in the United Kingdom, where she worked across several top hospitals such as Princess Margaret Hospital, Brook General Hospital, Lancaster Moore Hospital, British General Hospital for Mothers and Babies and Sedgefild General Hospital.

Dr Sharma’s core practice has been in gynaecology, women’s health, high risk pregnancy and infertility. She is a full time registered member of the General Medical Council, London, UK. She is also a member of the Indian Medical Council, and was the Secretary of the Delhi Medicos Association for many years. Dr Sharma has been featured across multiple television channels on matters concerning women's health, pregnancy etc. She has also been interviewed and her articles comments have been published by leading Indian newspapers and magazines on matters concerning women's health and pregnancy.
Dr Sharma is still going strong. She is focussing her attention on the health of adolescent and young women in lifestyle disease especially P.C.O.D. Polycystic Ovarian Disease.
She is a avid traveller, a poet and loves to cook. She also enjoys going on vacations with her kids and grand kids.

INCREASED PARTICIPATION OF WOMEN IN ADMINISTRATION AND POLITICS WILL ENSURE A BETTER FUTURE OF THE SOCIETY-SATISH UPADHYAY
New Delhi, 8th March. Delhi BJP's MAHILA MORCHA today organized a function at Party Office to celebrate Women Day.
On the occasion Delhi BJP President Sh. Satish Upadhyay & Mahila Morcha President Smt. Kamaljeet Sehrawat felicitated 6 prominent women Padamshri Dancer Smt. Uma Sharma, prominent city Doctor Dr. Asha Sharma, Industrialists & FICCI leader Smt. Harjinder Kaur, Mediaperson Ms. Nidhi Kulpati, EDMC Mayor Smt. Meenakshi & NDMC Councilor Smt. Rekha Gupta for their contribution in their specific work fields and achieving iconic status for themselves.
Speaking on the occasion Sh. Satish Upadhyay said that it is a matter of pleasure for us to see the women rise every day in all fields and yet performing all family responsibilities with full dedications. He appealed to women specially the 6 guests of the day to take interest in politics & administration as this is the only way we can expect a significant change the lifes of common women.

Sehrawat congratulated all women workers of the Party and said as political activists great responsibility lay on us to promote The Save Girl Child Scheme launched by the P.M. Sh. Narendra Modi as proper implementation of such schemes shall result in a better future for not only girls & women but entire society.

Dr. Asha Sharma said that it is a matter of grave concern that even after 68 years of freedom, women of the country faces malnutrition and poor health. It is time that the Government allocate dedicated Budget for women health care.
Famous Kathak Dancer Uma Sharma said that it is important that skill development opportunities are provided to girls and women to improve their chances of employment and empowerment.
FICCI women leader Harjinder Kaur said it is a matter of pride that several prominent Indian women are at top post in world industry. She said it is important we make all women self dependent this would vastly benefit the society.
Noted Journalist Nidhi Kulpati said that women journalist have done a lot of good works and we shall continue to work for providing a safe society for women.
